Q: What's the point of THIS page?

A: A page to answer questions given to me via the guestbook, and general trivia that I think would be useful to people browsing my Neocities website. Welcome!

Q: Why did you make a Neocities?

A: I made this site for fun, mostly. And to prove to myself that I could make something like this. Outside of that, it feels sort of transgressive to make my own site that doesn't rely on a big social media company. Also, having a link in the bio of your Big Corporate Social Media is the new, hip thing that all the cool kids are doing. And straw.page is for losers who can't code.

Q: What's the biggest inspiration behind this site?

A: My inspiration comes from too many sources to count (all my inspiration is like that--some kind of hodgepodge of whatever I happen to be thinking about) but Neocities users' myrrth's on the verge of something and goatcvlt's Hell come to mind. If you like my Neocities, go check their pages out. Pearl-clutchers beware, goatcvlt's page has porn.

Q: Is anything here optimized for mobile screens?

A: Yes. At worst, I try to at least make the pages FUNCTIONAL on mobile. The Fandoms page does this by turning the whole page 90 degrees counter-clockwise and then re-correcting the text boxes, for example. These pages still look better on desktop, or in landscape mode, though. Most Neocities sites are like that. Sorry, phone users. No hard feelings.

Q: What's up with the font choices?

A: Depends on which font we're talking about.

The body font is OpenDyslexic, a fontface by Abbie Gonzales with specially differenciated letter shapes (even among similar letters like b and d) to make it less of a headache for both me and other dyslexics to read. I personally feel like it should be used in more websites; I find it to be lifesaving, and change starts with you, so...

I can actually read now! And I love reading!

The header font is YANkareshi, a fontface that's a spinoff of Yandere^2's cute-creepy YANDERE.ttf. The lowercase is smooth and sharp, and the UPPERCASE IS MANIC AND SCRATCHY. That aspect is why most of my titles are only in FULL CAPS or all lowercase. I think it's fun. And I like yanderes.

Also, I don't use this aspect as much, but it can also do whatever this is: ~# {}[]

Q: Can I feed the talking fish?

A: Absolutely not. He runs entirely on .jpeg's and bad music. Do not tap the screen glass, it scares him.

His name is Simon, as suggested as my boyfriend.

Q: How did you learn to code all of this?

A: Some of it is from the coding class I took in middle school. Most of it is from inspecting other people's sites and W3Schools, which I really reccomend for anyone trying to get good at HTML and CSS. Also, if you like my layout, feel free to use right click --> View Page Source or right click --> Inspect. Remember: HTML is just boxes (div's) inside boxes.
